hard disk

a data storage device in which data is stored on a magnetic disk embodied in a COMPUTER. Most hard disks can store large amounts of data, such as 20 megabytes of numbers or letters.

The access time is somewhat slower than a fixed disk at somewhere between 240-500 milliseconds.
