Crest
a paperless settlement system which was introduced in 1996 to cut the costs and speed up the completion of dealings on the UK STOCK MARKET. Under Crest, STOCK and SHARE transactions are recorded electronically, in contrast to the existing parallel system (TALISMAN) which involves the issue of settlement papers and share certificates. However, as with Talisman, investors will still receive a contract note from their broker to confirm their purchase or sale.Collins Dictionary of Business, 3rd ed. © 2002, 2005 C Pass, B Lowes, A Pendleton, L Chadwick, D O’Reilly and M Afferson
