Some of the more common outdated references to ASTM standards involve soil classification, soil plasticity, Proctor
compaction tests and the nuclear density gauge.
Exova will carry out materials testing on fresh and hardened concrete, along with soil classification and
compaction tests.
There arc methods that are useful in this field of research, such as Proctor and uniaxial
compaction tests. The Proctor tests determines the maximum BD ([BD.sub.max]), and critical soil water content ([WC.sub.crit]), which represent the bulk density and moisture at which soil compaction is highest.

To determine the moisture- density relationship,
compaction tests were carried out on 5 samples for T-1, 7 samples for T-2 and 8 samples for T-3.
