Transferable Stock Option

An employee stock option that allows the employee to give to another party. Usually, transfers are limited to members of the employee's family, an investment vehicle designed to benefit family members, and/or a charity.

Four years later, Google is making headlines for a more permanent transferable stock option (TSO) program that will allow employees to sell their vested options to preapproved financial institutions in an online auction managed by Morgan Stanley.
One intriguing possibility is the introduction and proliferation of ongoing transferable stock option (TSO) programs.
In December, Google announced a new compensation program for its employees called transferable stock options. When options vest, employees can sell them online to the highest-bidding financial institution.
