Following a three-year battle, the case has now been decided by the UK Intellectual Property Office, which rules on
trademark disputes.
Without a federal registration, your
trademark rights are limited geographically to those regions in which your company provides goods and/or services.
The launch came during a workshop organized by ASIP in collaboration with the Licensing Executives Society -- Arab Countries (LES-AC), entitled "Famous
Trademarks" that was held in conjunction with World Intellectual Property Day with the aim to keep abreast with the latest developments in the IP field to build a better future for the next generation.
A: The requirement to formally disclose in writing a filing basis or bases claiming actual use of the
trademark in Canada since the implementation date, an intention to use the
trademark in Canada, and/or a foreign registration and use of the
trademark will be eliminated.

Mamari said there are essential prerequisites to register a
trademark. Samples of the
trademark must be submitted and the application must be printed and complete.
Where a
trademark has already been registered and/or accepted by the ITMO, the
trademark proprietor can request that the office send an official letter to the
Trademark Department in Erbil requesting that the
trademark's registration be validated in the territory.
