Tokyo Stock Price Index

Commonly called TOPIX. A major index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange that tracks the First Section, which consists of the largest companies by market capitalization. Along with the NIKKEI average, TOPIX is considered a major indicator of the state of Japanese investment, and of the economy at large.
