South Yemeni Dinar
The
currency of South Yemen. It was introduced in 1965, replacing the
East African shilling two years before South Yemen became independent. After South and North Yemen united in 1990, the South Yemeni dinar remained in
circulation until 1996. It was replaced by the
Yemeni rial.
