Hard Copy

A physical document containing information. For example, a printed paper of a spreadsheet is a hard copy, while the same spreadsheet saved to a flash drive is not.

Soft copy reading using GE's digital mammography system was tested at Northwestern University in Chicago, the University of Colorado and the University of Massachusetts, and won high marks from radiologists.
"I have interpreted more than 3000 digital mammograms on soft copy, and I have no doubt that soft copy interpretations equal those from film," said John Lewin, M.D., assistant professor of radiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
