There is no correlation in the literature relating the electrical resistivity with ultra-soft soil shear strength.
According to Iwakiri (2005), the high viscosity of UF can make the adhesive more difficult to spread and also lower the penetration into the wood, affecting shear strength values.
Peak and Residual Shear Strength. Figure 5 illustrates shear stress-shear strain curves of infilled specimens with various thickness ratios and JRCs.
On the basis of triaxial tests, the relationship between the parameters (principal stress difference, shear strength, cohesion, and fraction) with reinforcement ratio and confining pressure of flax fiber-reinforced clay were investigated.
It can be summarized from Figure 3 that shear strength of soil sample increased with the rise in vertical pressure and matric suction.
The shear strength parameters of weak and strong samples were obtained and compared.
Moreover, a modified shear strength equation in the ACI 318-14 [7] was evaluated, and the applicability of the fracture mode prediction equation provided in ACI 318-14 was verified.
