This is one of the simplest ways to reduce PAPR in an
OFDM system, but as we will see below that the simplicity in the approach brings an advantage along with several disadvantages.
The receiver part contain a dual polarization coherent detection where the optical signal is detected and converted into an electrical signal, an
OFDM demodulation dual polarization is used to demodulate the waveform using the inverse transform of that used in the transmitter, a QAM decoder which is used to change the samples into bits.
When all of the subcarriers in an
OFDM system have the same phases, it's possible to reach the maximum power which results in mean | s(t) [|.sup.2] = 1, this makes the PAPR = N which means the maximum power equals N times the mean power.

The statistics for the PAPR of an
OFDM signal can be given in terms of its complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF).
Therefore, the space-domain steering vector a([theta], R) of
OFDM radar echo signal includes direction steering vector a([theta]) in (14) and distance steering vector a(R), that is,
The electric field spectrum of the transmitted optical signal is a replica of the baseband RF
OFDM signal, with no need for any optical carrier component to be transmitted.
