CVE

ISO 4217 code for the Cape Verdean escudo. It was introduced in 1914 and was pegged to the Portuguese escudo until the Cape Verde Islands became independent in 1975. Depreciation of the CVE led the Cape Verde Islands to re-establish the peg in 1998. It is currently pegged to the euro.
