International Securities Exchange

An exchange for options based in New York. Established in 2000, the International Securities Exchange lists options on a number of different investment vehicles, including stocks, indices, and ETFs. It also provides investors with tutorials on option strategies. In late 2008, the International Securities Exchange established a separate exchange for trading stocks.

International Securities Exchange (ISE)

An SEC-registered securities exchange that commenced operation in 2000 for electronic trading of options. The exchange has ten designated trading areas, each staffed by market makers who make orderly markets including firm bid and ask prices for designated options. The ISE was funded by a consortium of broker-dealers and is based in New York City.
