Hard Dot
Hard Dot
A portion of a
halftone image with a sharp edge. A halftone image is used to print an illustration, and a hard dot produces better quality print. Often, new halftones have hard dots, but they degenerate over time to
soft dots, which have less defined edges. A hard dot should not be confused with a
hard edge.
