First Sudanese Pound

First Sudanese Pound

The former currency of Sudan. It was issued in 1956, replacing the Egyptian pound and another Sudanese currency linked with the Egyptian pound. It was pegged to the British pound from 1969 to 1971. In 1992, it was replaced by the Sudanese dinar (which was itself replaced by the second Sudanese pound in 2007).
