E. George Schaefer

An investor who was a major proponent of Dow theory, which states that when the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Dow Jones Transportation Average both hit a new high or a new low for a period of time, it can confirm a previous bullish or bearish signal. Unlike Dow theorists who came before him, he also strongly believed in value investing. He died in 1974.
