Developmental State View

Developmental State View

A view of economic development holding that capital markets cannot provide the necessary liquidity and growth for development without significant government intervention. The developmental state view advocates that, at minimum, a government in a developing country should coordinate resource allocation with the private sector. Others contend that the government should conduct resource allocation itself. Economists disagree on how well the developmental state view works.
