Crossover Fund

A mutual fund that invests in both publicly-traded companies and private equity. A crossover fund usually has higher risk than most mutual funds, depending on the types of companies in which it invests, but it normally has both high yield and growth. Crossover funds are considered better as long-term investments, rather than short-term.
