Statistical analysis of the micro-hardness and
compressive strength values was carried out using the SPSS version 20 software.
These differences mainly occurred in locations 3 and 4, which both had lower
compressive strength values.
For
compressive strength tests, standard cube specimens of size 150 x 150 x 150 mm are cast and tested under compression using 3000 KN testing machine at standard rate of loading suggested by IS 516 (BIS 1956).
It was observed that 0.5 M [Na.sub.2]S[O.sub.4] solution greatly increased the
compressive strength of PCC35 compared to nonactivated PCC35 on the 28th day of curing.
Compressive Strength. Dirt and water were cleaned from the specimens using a damp cloth.
As we can see from Figure 1, regardless of the amount of active magnesia tested, the strength of the blocks is significantly higher than the
compressive strength of the active magnesia block.
The residual
compressive strength results of mortars after exposure to 300, 600 and 900[degrees]C temperatures are presented in Table 3.
The effect of the type of steel fibres (CM and DM) on the
compressive strength of HSC was also studied by considering the volume contents of 2 and 3% of both steel fibres.
The decrease of the
compressive strength of concrete specimens with 50% and 100% metakaolin ALWA, compared to the one with 0%, are 8.6 MPa (28%) and 12.6 MPa (40%), respectively.
In this research work, an attempt was made to analyse the effect of curing on
compressive strength of concrete.
