Bureau of Industry and Security

An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce charged with regulating exports to ensure that they are sent abroad in a safe and efficient manner. It also monitors exporters to help enforce applicable law, particularly arms control agreements and trade sanctions. It works with private companies as needed to perform its duties.
