Bridlington Rules

a code of practice operated by the TRADES UNION CONGRESS (TUC) to regulate inter-union competition for members in the UK, so called because they were agreed by the TUC at its Congress in Bridlington (in 1939). Where a TRADE UNION believes that its ‘sphere of influence’ has been encroached upon by another it may take the issue to a disputes committee of the TUC for resolution.
