Autorite du Bassin du Niger

An international organization intended to advance international cooperation in the development and use of resources in the Niger River in West Africa. While many of its activities concentrate on hydroelectric development, the Autorite du Bassin du Niger promotes collaboration in other areas, such as agriculture and forestry. Member states include Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Nigeria. It is known in English as the Niger Basin Authority or the NBA, as well as by its French abbreviation, ABN.
