Armstrong Investigation

An investigation into abuse and fraud that occurred in the New York State insurance industry in the early 20th century. The investigation was undertaken in 1905 and led to stricter regulation of the industry; for example, after the Armstrong investigation, insurance companies were required to put their policies' benefits in language a potential policyholder could understand.
