Any statement or correspondence sent out from a business or a professional office should have the words "
Address Service Requested" printed or stamped on the envelope, just below your return address in the top left corner.
There are a number of options, including simply putting "Return Service Requested" or "Address Service Requested" on your mail piece.
Step One should be three simple words on every envelope you send out: "Address Service Requested" or "Return Service Requested."
The correct current postal term is "
Address Service Requested." Additionally, "
Address Service Requested" should only be used on a donor list mailing because that has to be up to date, and never for a "friends" list mailing because the cost would be prohibitive.
