United Nations Population Fund

An organization created by the United Nations and charged with promoting reproductive health. It provides funding for programs to discourage the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, to promote the use of contraceptives and to support healthy pregnancies and childbirths. The alleged role of the United Nations Population Fund in funding abortions and forced sterilizations has been a source of controversy.
