World Economic Forum
1. An annual meeting of global business, political and academic leaders in Davos, Switzerland. Participants in the World Economic Forum discuss the economic, political, environmental and other relevant issues of the day. The World Economic Forum lasts for five days and includes of 220 conferences and other events. Meetings tend to promote globalization. As a result, the forum has been the subject of controversy.

2. A nonprofit foundation that sponsors the World Economic Forum as well as regional and specialized meetings. It was founded in 1971.
