Wash Trading

    0.01 sec.
Wash Trading
A practice in which an investor makes simultaneous orders to buy and sell a security through two or more brokers. A wash trader does this in order to create the appearance of higher trading volume than really exists, which, in turn, drives the price up unnecessarily. Wash trading is a form of price manipulation and is therefore illegal.
