A method of tracking the return on an investment over a given period of time in relation to a theoretical $1,000 investment. For example, suppose the yearly return on an investment is 10%; the VAMI would then be 1100. It is calculated thusly:

VAMI = Previous VAMI for equal period of time * (1 + return rate)
