Asset Valuation The process of determining the fair market value of an asset. This is done periodically when determining the value of real estate, a portfolio, an investment, an item on a balance sheet, or any number of other assets. There are a number of tools used for asset valuation, including the historical value, values of similar assets, current supply and demand, fundamental analysis, and so forth.
