Up volume
When a stock closes increases in value on a particular day, the volume in that stock is considered up volume. Related: Down volume.

Up Volume
The trading volume of a security on a trading day on which it closed up for the day. That is, when the closing price is higher than the opening price, all volume on that security for the day is considered up volume. Technical analysts use up volume and down volume to determine buy and sell signals.
