Unjust Enrichment In law, a situation in which one person profits from a venture but does not provide adequate compensation to another person who helped in the venture. Unjust enrichment may result from underpayment, failure to honor a contract, or slavery. One found liable for unjust enrichment may have to pay the person who was mistreated.
