U.S. Code

The codification of all U.S. federal law into 50 titles. The U.S. Code exists to organize American law by topic rather than by chronology (as would be done if acts or bills were listed as they were enacted). Parts of the U.S. Code, notably the Internal Revenue Code, are sometimes called codes in their own right, but they are in fact titles under the U.S. Code. It is updated and published every six years. The first U.S. Code was published in 1926.
