Underwriting spread The income that is generated by the underwriting syndicate and the selling group, which is essentially the difference between the amount paid to the issuer of securities in a primary distribution and the public offering price.
Underwriting Spread The difference between the amount underwriters pay an issuing company for a new issue and the amount they receives when they places the issue with investors. Underwriters desire a higher spread, but the size depends on the issuer's needs and bidding among the underwriters themselves. The underwriting spread forms the underwriters' profit for the new issue. How to thank TFD for its existence?
