A mutual fund that invests in bonds with very short maturity periods, usually one year or less.

Ultra-Short-Term Bond Fund
A mutual fund that invests exclusively in bonds with a maturity of one year or less. Like all bond funds, it carries fewer risks than other mutual funds, but it may still be risky if it invests in short-term junk bonds.
