United States Citizen
(redirected from US Citizens)

    0.01 sec.
United States Citizen
A person entitled to all rights and responsibilities offered under the Constitution of the United States. A U.S. citizen is protected by the United States government when abroad. Unless one loses one's rights (for example, by committing a felony), a U.S. citizen may vote, run for political office and conduct business without special permission. However, a U.S. citizen must also pay taxes on worldwide income and may be called to serve in the armed forces.

The State Department Monday issued an updated warning on the "continuing threat of terrorist actions" for US citizens worldwide, and a second advisory cautioning travel to Britain and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against US interests in multiple regions, including Europe," said the advisory, which updates the last Worldwide Caution post from August 2010.
Given this situation, the Department of State urges US citizens to defer non-essential travel to Egypt at this time and advises US citizens currently in Egypt to defer non-essential movement and to exercise caution, it stressed.
According to the travel warning, US citizens traveling or residing in Lebanon should keep a low profile, varying times and routes for all required travel.
