Universal Product Code
Commonly called a UPC. A bar code system used in the United States, Canada and elsewhere. Groceries and other products commonly have UPCs on them so a machine can display how much they cost. This ensures that consistent, accurate prices are paid on retail goods.

Abu Dhabi GIS Day 2009 will witness the UPC showcasing its state of the art enterprise GIS system, named GeoPlanner (a web based GIS solution), which has been implemented across different departments within UPC such as planning and policy, development review, Estidama (sustainable initiative) and Corporate Communications.
The UPC is the agency responsible for the future of Abu Dhabi's urban regional environment.
With the UPC receiving official approvals on the much awaited master plans for Capital District, Khalifa B and Shahama and Bahia revitalisation, the need for recruiting both fresh graduates and professional urban planners on a regular interval has increased.
