United Nations Volunteers
A program of the United Nations that encourages volunteerism. It recruits volunteers throughout the world who are placed in various development programs depending on their skills and the UN's needs. It also assists NGOs in finding volunteers for their programs. United Nations Volunteers began in 1971.

The workshop was attended by various Ministries including Planning and International Cooperation, Social Development, Agriculture, Health, Culture and others and from different public universities as well as some International volunteer organizations like Peace Corps, UNV also participated.
The UNV program is the UN focal point for volunteerism.
In general, they are exempt from taxation by the nation in which performing UNV duties, if different than the nation of citizenship.
