United Nations Development Programme
Also called the UNDP. An organization within the United Nations that provides grants, training and other forms of assistance in developing countries. The UNDP promotes democratization, anti-poverty initiatives, and environmental protection, among other things. Its head is the third highest ranking official at the UN.

An appendix presents a summary of the Arab Human Development Report 2005, prepared by the UN Development Program.
This meeting came within the framework of cooperation between the Arab League and regional initiative of the UN Development Program entitled (Water Governance in the Arab States) launched last January.
