National Association of Realtors
An organization for real estate brokers and real estate agents in the United States. It serves as a lobbying group for realtors before the U.S. government. It is also a self-regulatory organization for the sale of real estate. It has an affiliated think tank that conducts research on the manufacturing industry. It was founded in 1908 and maintains its headquarters in Washington, D.C.

National Association of REALTORS® (NAR)

The largest real estate organization in the world, with over 850,000 members in all 50 states plus Washington,D.C.; Guam; Puerto Rico; and the Virgin Islands.The association promotes ethical standards, educational growth, professionalism, and the effective use of modern tools and technology.It has positioned itself as “The Voice for Real Estate,”a theme it adopted in 1989 and has followed since that time. It maintains a Web site primarily for members at www.realtor.org and another devoted to consumers at www.realtor.com.
