Triple Witching Week

    0.01 sec.
Triple Witching Week
The week of trade on an exchange containing the third Friday of March, June, September and December. It is the week of expiration for three types of standardized contracts: stock options, stock index options and stock index futures. Investors often unwind their positions on these contracts during or before triple witching weeks, leading to increased trading volume. See also: Quadruple witching day.
