Transmittal letter

A letter describing the contents and purpose of a transaction delivered with a security that is changing ownership.

Transmittal Letter

A letter describing a transaction of a security. That is, a transmittal letter states the nature of a trade and the number of shares contained therein. A transmittal letter is sent with security certificates when they change ownership.
