Options that provide by their terms that they may be transferred by the optionee, generally only to a family member or to a trust, limited partnership or other entity for the benefit of family members, or to a charity.

Transferable Stock Option
An employee stock option that allows the employee to give to another party. Usually, transfers are limited to members of the employee's family, an investment vehicle designed to benefit family members, and/or a charity.

In December, Google announced a new compensation program for its employees called transferable stock options.
