Two or more investors who manipulate a stock's price by making buy or sell orders so as to create the impression of high volume and general interest in the stock. This could raise or lower the price, according to the needs of the trading pool. See also: Price manipulation.
trading pool
A pool in which the stock is manipulated by purchases and sales in the open market. For example, pool operators affect a stock's price and volume by making purchases in the open market, thereby attracting the interest of other investors.
