A stock that is declining in price very quickly with no foreseeable reversal. A torpedo stock may occur when a company's fundamentals suddenly change or when it becomes gradually apparent over time that the company is unprofitable and is not taking appropriate steps to change course. This causes many or most shareholders to sell their stock for whatever they can receive.
