Kaizen
A Japanese term for improvement. Kaizen aims to improve efficiency and quality in all things. It contains five elements: teamwork, personal discipline, improved morale, quality circles and an open door for suggestions. It became common in business following World War II, when Japanese companies received instruction in American quality control.
