Syndicate A group of bankers, insurers, etcetera, who work together on a large project. Notes: A syndicate only works together temporarily. They are commonly used for large loans or underwritings to reduce the risk that each individual firm must take on. Syndicate A group of banks that acts jointly, on a temporary basis, to loan money in a bank credit (syndicated credit) or to underwrite a new issue of bonds.
