National Pharmaceutical Stockpile

Large quantities of medicine maintained by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for use in national emergencies. The CDC may tap into the National Pharmaceutical Stockpile in the event of a natural disaster, epidemic, terrorist attack or any other event in which local medicinal stockpiles prove insufficient. Medicines are delivered within 12 hours of request by both federal and local authorities. They are available for free.
