Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) Formerly the Bombay stock exchange, the BSE accounts for more than one-third of Indian trading volume. Bombay Stock Exchange One of the oldest stock exchanges in India, responsible for approximately one third of the country's trading volume. Tracing its origins to the 1830s, it is notable for the Sensex, an index of the 30 most actively traded stocks on its floor that is considered one of the most important benchmark indices in India.
