Soft spot
Stocks or groups of stocks that remain weak in a strong market.

Soft Spot
A stock that does not trend upward when the majority of the market does. There are a number of explanations for a soft spot's existence. A soft spot may be a countercyclical stock or it may belong to an industry that is in decline. Alternatively, it may simply be a poorly managed company. See also: Bear Market, Bull Market.
