Skilled Worker A worker who is able to perform a specific task well. For example, a locksmith is a skilled worker because he/she can make new keys for customers' homes and cars. Skilled workers need some training and many acquire a certification from an institute stating that they have passed coursework in a skill. Because of this additional training and ability, skilled workers are often more highly paid than unskilled workers. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
