STIR Futures & Options
Short-term interest rate futures and options. A futures or option contract in which the underlying asset is the three-month interest rate on LIBOR, EURIBOR, or TIBOR. Some companies use STIR futures and options in order to hedge against the risk of borrowing and/or lending.
